The world,
connected

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the UN agency for information and communication technologies. ITU is unique in its position to bring together world leaders, big business and governments to facilitate change.

In October 2011 WHAM partnered with ITU to help revitalise the branding and messaging of their annual event, ITU Telecom World, held in Geneva.

ITU Telecom World Conference, Geneva 2011

This was ITU’s 40th anniversary event where leading industry players, government heads, digital innovators and technological talents all came together to collaborate and share ideas. ITU’s main aim is to create a manifesto for change, in other words – change our world for the better.

WHAM designed communication items including event signage, billboard displays, digital ads and banners as well as interactive elements that made the event a success for delegates from across the world.

WHAM are proud to play a part in ITU’s ongoing effort to engage with every one of the 7 billion people across the world.

The event was designed around interactive debates, workshops, panel discussions, competitions and showcases. The underlying spirit was of openness and engagement. Knowledge-sharing, networking, collaborating and connecting at the highest level were at the core of the event.

WHAM designed event collateral that reinforced this open, sharing and connected atmosphere. The event was truly global, with 37 countries and 27 companies represented in the main exhibition area.

WHAM created a signage system that was easy to understand, appealing, engaging and on-brand. Specifically, all designed elements retained an informal, conversational style that was aimed at encouraging the free exchange of ideas and opinions.
