WHAM helped 3 Indonesia create three television commercials and a photo shoot involving Manchester United players. This work will be used to promote their sponsorship of the Manchester United Asia Tour and associated products. We enlisted the services of The Bank to help with aspects of this project.
Teaching Manchester United players to speak Bahasa is just part of the extensive work WHAM does in leading the 3 Brand in 10 countries!
It took a little convincing, but after promises of cheap beer and cheeseburgers, the opening WHAM ‘First Wednesday’ finally took place at Rileys Pool Hall in Victoria.
The evening kicked off with five games to sort the wheat from the chaff, which was done without mercy. The closest two teams; Barry and Anoushka versus Simon and Rosalind proved to be the most serious with, ‘we’re not here to lose’ announced by Simon to all and sundry. Each move was played only after much consultation to the despair of the burger and beer-filled spectators tiring of his strategising! However a closely-tied final proved him correct, with Barry and Anoushka relegated to second place.
All left with th conspiring to work on our techniques so we can show them how it’s done at the next Pool challenge. Bring it on!
With our resident cricket aficionado championing his cause, a gaggle of WHAMmers journeyed to Kennington Oval to watch the Surrey v Sussex 20/20 match, it being summer and all that. With a BBQ trauma the previous day having depleted the expected picnic supplies, we were back on track with a rescue mission to the supermarket en route. Fully equipped and ready to put our multi tasking skills to the test, we set about simultaneously spectating and feasting.
While most of us didn’t know our googly from our silly point, we were fortunate that 20/20 has been dumbed down to the point where even we could have some fun. Endless fours and sixes boosted the WHAM onlookers from relaxed spectators to energetic pros, shouting advice and words of encouragement to “our” team (Sussex in this case). The cheers of WHAM’s cricket converts having the desired effect, Sussex reigned victorious! Next WHAM sporting adventure, a little evil croquet!
