A New, New Thing

WW_B11_NewNewThingWHAM is back from a whirlwind visit to India where we are working on all manner of projects, including a new digital project looking at web and mobile.

Observation: India has lots of rural areas which is where the next 500 million or so customers are waiting for the joy of a mobile device. But there are challenges. First up there’s the double whammy of illiteracy and regional languages. Then you have the notion of introducing services to people who have not seen the web before. So it’s not replacing something else that is already known, like the web on a PC. It’s a new, new thing. Despite this, it’s exciting and the most revolutionary thing we saw was in the area of voice. Yep, talk. Won’t say anymore, but it’s got our thinking caps buzzing (or is that, spinning?). Oh, and go CSK!

WHAM Plays Ball

WW_B10_CricketAfter a truly inspired decision to organise a few jolly cricket matches this summer, WHAM have doggedly tried to secure a pitch worthy of our wonderful team. Despite the many obstacles that have riddled this process, we are unmoved! So, rallying the troops from the furthest reaches of our building, and calling on members of the INQ team to join us, we have assembled a rather pleasing number of participants.

Despite the guise of a relaxed affair, as the summer draws near the steely determination for victory of the WHAM team head honcho is almost palpable. Perhaps after an ice cold bevvy and a morsel or two of bbq-d delights, their competitive streak will be somewhat allayed… One can but hope.

WW_B9_Aircel_PhonesPlanesBatsWe’ve been working with Aircel, one of India’s fast growing telecommunications companies, for some time now and recently things have gotten much, much busier. Many folk from WHAM are now racking up some crazy air miles as we help out on all manner of projects from brand development, retail, digital, and even the Aircel sponsored Chennai Superkings in the Indian Premier League cricket. Watch out over the coming months. There’s a lot more happening that we’d love to tell you about and…er, will…eventually.
