WW_B7_S&VSound & Vision, Cancer Research’s annual fund raiser that “brings together the music and creative industries in the magical venue of Abbey Road Studios for a spectacular evening of entertainment” was held on February 26. While the WHAM team attending failed to take the obligatory “walking across the zebra crossing” pic, they did manage to have a fine time supping champers, bidding on classic Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan photos (we were outbid on both, sadly) and generally enjoying the positive vibe of the evening as Paul Weller, Kelly Jones and Lemar entertained the crowd.

Great speeches were given by Cancer Research CEO Harpal Kumar, along with patrons Bob Harris and Sir George Martin, with much money raised for further research during the evening. View the site created by WHAM for the event by visiting www.soundandvisionofficial.com.

WW_B6_INQ_GSMA_WinnerWHAM created the INQ brand last year and already their debut product, the INQ1 phone, has been announced as winner of the GSMA ‘Best Mobile Handset or Device’ award. Going so far as to describe the technical ability as ‘ingenious’, the GSMA judging panel were duly impressed.

As the world’s first social networking mobile it has been especially singled out for praise by Adrian Finighan of CNN, who reports the handset’s benefits in front of the INQ stand, which is proving a popular destination at the exhibition.

WW_B4_ObamaHype around the product is growing all the time and even prelaunch the Powerstick already has a fan base of devoted users, including the President of the United States, Barack Obama, and various senior members of his administration. The Powerstick is currently in production and will be coming to the UK in 2009. WHAM created the brand identity and retail marketing materials, including display units and customer literature.

WW_B3_AIR_Tiger_CompPart of WHAM’s ongoing work with Aircel has included a number of interesting sponsorship related projects. Save Our Tigers is one of them – our approach was to create a global identity that appealed locally within India itself. Save Our Tigers, with its bold colours and use of type provided the sense of ownership and impact needed to stand out in the crowd. As part of this project we created our own mascot tiger cub.
